B.C. Family Net Society joins others in its outrage at the latest move by the B.C. Liberal Government, without any prior consultation, to restrict Community Living B.C.’s (CLBC) service to persons with an I.Q. of 70 or less. We are deeply concerned about the impact on vulnerable individuals and families. This decision comes on the heels of the recent unilateral decision regarding services to children, youth and adults with developmental disabilities to move to a different Ministry. These actions add to Family Net’s dismay at how this government has betrayed its earlier commitment to transparent decision making and open consultation. We are preparing an open letter to the Premier as well as pursuing other strategies to address this eligibility issue and others. The letter will be posted on this website by the end of next week.
